Sam PF's Journal - Roamin' Catholic
I'm very sorry to hear it, but I can't blame you in the least. I don't think I've ever been so unhappy with the Church for so long - I feel like it's being so actively wrong in so many directions. And like you I felt very angry at the national pastoral letter over this issue, of all of the things they could have chosen - I don't remember ever hearing such a political one before.

Sympathies and solidarity very much for those like you still hanging in there and hoping (and in some way working) for things to change one day!
The thing is, I don't think they're bad people, for the most part, in the Hierarchy - I think people like Nicholls genuinely want to take as compassionate approach as possible to homosexual people. But the Church as a whole has fixated, like a precocious but immature teenager, on this perfectly logical but emotionally messed up Scholastic moral philosophical system that leads to them acting like complete jerks on these issues.
